November 8-13, 2009 Corpus Christi, Texas- Pastor Brian McDonald We traveled nine hours to arrive at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Corpus Christi and were warmly greeted by Pastor McDonald, his sweet Louisiana wife, Pam, and children Jordyn, Kalyn, and Seth.
They provided spacious accommodations for us at the Plaza Inn, across the street from their church and fed us abundantly with the best food. They made their house a wonderful place fellowship and spared nothing in their efforts to be a blessing to us. May God reward them greatly in return. We had already prayed earnestly that the Lord would move mightily in this church, and were not disappointed to see Him dealing with many lives, drawing them to the altar each night.
The Lord enabled Brother Goodwin to preach nightly with great energy and anointing.
We were glad to see Ray and Cindy Perez and their children. Ray is the dynamic song leader, and Cindy is principal of the school at Glad Tidings. They each graduated from Free Gospel Bible Institute, and we are thankful for their involvement in ministry. Ray came to the Lord at Bro. K.A.Smith's church in Corpus Christi many years ago after Margaret McMillen knocked on his door and talked to him about the Lord!
Brother Goodwin also spoke at the special morning chapel service held to honor veterans. Each one present received a certificate of appreciation for their valiant service to our country.
Pictured above right are those awarded scholarships from the Veterans for excellence in written patriotic essays. The pastor's daughter, Jordyn McDonald, received the highest award for her written and audio interview with Dave Roever. A gunner’s mate in the “Brown Water” Navy in Vietnam, Roever was on a patrol when a phosphorus grenade exploded next to his face severely burning most of his body. As an overcomer of the worst odds, he now presents Jesus Christ to others.
Look what we found under one of the church pews!!
